After a bit of an uncomfortable morning lying on the floor in blankets, we decided to change to a different host place. It has a/c, real beds and it was essentially our own place!
Our new host was a nice middle aged lady who even picked us up at Busan Station to take us to her house. Her house was practically at the top of the hill. The view was magnificent!
We got settled in to our new host place. The Gukje market was a 15 minute walk from the house, so we decided to start there for our evening out. It was pretty cool; some similar stuff to the small shopping districts I've been in at Seoul. But here, they sold practically everything you could possibly think of. I bought a couple shirts but didn't want to spend too much time buying stuff.
We ate a tempura dukkboki, which was mega spicy, I could hardly taste anything after that for awhile:
To cool us down, we ate more bing-su! Still mango flavor, haha. It was a different type from the ones we usually get because apparently there's a Taiwanese version:
Did you know you can go to a convenience store and get your phone charged for 1,000 won? It's super cool! Since both of our phones were dying, there's actually charger places in the subway where there are plugs already there, so you can charge for free, too! We wandering around aimlessly for awhile before we saw a henna stand.
I wanted a henna tattoo so I got one:
It was kinda of traced on but I still liked it. While I waited for it to be colored in, Meghan was busy playing with their cute dog:
We mostly walked around after, just to see the sights, even going to Jalgachi fish market:
It was funny because the minute we went close to where the sellers were, they automatically spoke Fnglish to Meghan and tried to sell their product. Eventually the fish smell go so strong that we wanted to leave.
We took the subway to Haeundae, one of the most popular beach places in Busan. We tried these fish cake things (odeng?) while we were there. They were really tasty:
Even went inside a Baskin Robins to see their version of cakes:
We then headed off to the beach! There were so many people!! Apparently, Busan is where you find the masculine type of Korean guys, so you guys know what I'm scouting for while on the beach hehe.
Meghan and I didn't bring our bathing suits so we just walked along the beach mostly.
It wasn't as hot as Seoul, thankfully, but we still wanted to chill for awhile:
I had been dying for some chicken, so Meghan found this nice Indian restaurant to eat for dinner (Halal yo). I didn't really know what we ate but it was very good, including the curry!
This is us heading back to Busan Station to take a bus to our host's house.
We were kinda tired but we had to try on these funny face masks that Meghan bought awhile back before going to sleep:
So that was our day today. We'll be doing a lot tomorrow too! Then we're off the Jeju Island!
Sid
