Day 16 - Kuala Lumpur

Hiiiii

Today was a cool day!

For breakfast we ate this leaf-covered rice dish with coconut milk and other spices. It's usually called Nasi Lemat but I think this one was a different kind, and a special coconut desert I like. Yum~

My Aunt and Uncle were nice enough to take the day off to spend with us at KL. They dropped off their kids off to school before taking us to an old Emperor Palace called Istana Negara, Jalan Istana. We could only take pictures at the front gate but still cool to look at.

Afterwords, we went to the New Emperor Palace, Istana Negara, Jalan Duta. There were a lot of tourists there though we got some cool pics there.

We then went to Batu Cave, a famous Hindu Shrine. I wanted to actually go inside the cave itself but the minute we saw the stairs, we were like heck no. Our feet still hurt from the couple days before at Universal Studios.

There was a henna tattoo place right there so we decided to get some; even my aunt wanted one. They looked so cool. (BETA Natasha's note: Ippeuda! So pretty I'm jealous >.<)

We then went to a local Bazaar that sold all kinds of stuff from food to clothes. My Uncle had a hard time finding parking so we just parked at a mall nearby.

We went to a bathroom first and Meghan found out that at all public bathrooms, you have to pay .50 RM cents to use it.

After finding out that we also don't use toilet paper and just had a bidet to use, we grabbed some bubble tea to drink. Meghan got milk tea while I got mango, of course.

Then it was off to shopping for us!

We both bought some Malay sleepwear and some karipuffs.

We then went to a store called First Lady and Meghan tried our many Malay outfits that looked very good on her.

She bought alot of clothing but it wasn't just for her. I just bought a Malay cultural outfit.

We then went back to the Mall to grab some lunch. My aunt and I got some Malay snacks and looked around to get some noodles to eat. She and my uncle got some udon type noodles while Meghan and I got some fried noodles. Got some desert to go with it, too!

We went back to the house and took like a 10 minute power nap before going out again. My uncle dropped us to the mall nearest to his house. We watched the movie Pixels! I really enjoyed that movie.

Afterwords, Meghan wanted her nails gelled and painted with French tips. It took about an hour or so I even got my own eyebrows waxed while waiting. By the time my Uncle picked us up, it was around 9 and we wanted to eat dinner. I suggested KFC since I've never eaten it before. It wasn't so good for Meghan as she got a bit sick after eating it, but I was satisfied.

Another tiring day, then we went to bed.

Day 15 - Traveling Part 4

Heyyyy

Today was a bit exciting day as I'll be visiting my family in Malaysia!

We called a service bus to pick us up from Riko's house to drop us off at Osaka airport. It was a two hour trip and we mostly just took in the view.

Sadly, we generally didn't take many pics today. This will be just me mostly describing what happened.

We finally arrived at Osaka airport with mostly our carry-ons and we were also happy that Riko's fam helped out to send  Meghan's big luggage bag to Tokyo for us. It was a huge help because, GOSH, did we carry a lot of stuff.

I had to call my uncle as he was in a traffic jam so we just waited and looked around the airport for a bit. Didn't know they had a Famous Amos store; sadly, I didn't get a picture of it.

Meghan went to a convenience store and bought some Malay snacks. I was brooding on the side:

My Uncle and Aunt came with their three kids (all boys) and were of course surprised by our abundant baggage. This was minus the purple big bag Meghan had; she called a service in Kyoto with the help of Riko's family to send it to Toyo University for her, so one less bag to carry. It wasn't expensive at all, surprisingly.

From the airport, you could see the sunset and it was literally breathtaking to take in. Again, didn't take a pic, sorry!

My Uncle went around the city in the car, showing Meghan what was what. We were picked up at the Kuala Lumpur Airport but they lived in Putrajaya, a 20 minute drive away. Even I forgot the sites since it's been around 6 years since I've last been to Malaysia. We looked around a bit before finding a restaurant place to eat. Meghan and I got curry while my Uncle's family mostly ate Roti Canai.

It's been awhile for me but Malaysia is known for eating with our hands so that's what I did.

Afterwords, we looked around the city a bit again before heading to their house. We had our own room and own beds too.

We ate some crab before we went off to bed:

My cousin playing around.

That was about it for this day; not very eventful, but it was a nice day to enjoy.

Day 14 - Universal Studios Japan

Well Hi!

I bet you guys know where we went today! Yep, Universal Studios Japan in Osaka!! It was so awesome, and being with friends made it all the better!

We took about four subway trains to get there, and it was wayyyyy early for us as we had to get up at around 6, take the subways, and so we finally got there around 7:50.

We were kind of stupid because we went into the line to get into the park, for those who already bought tickets, which we (of course) didn't. So we had to go into a seperate line for the tickets and then go back into entry line for the park. Madness already when we didn't even enter the Studios yet.

After a somewhat long line, we finally entered the amusement park. One of Riko's friend's, Mio, went ahead to get us time slots to enter Harry Potter world. She'd been here before so she wanted to go help us out by letting us try out Harry Potter first. Our waiting time was an hour and a half away so we decided to go try out the ride Space Fantasy!

It was actually a pretty cool ride, like, we actually traveled in space! Sort of. It was about a 90 minute wait, but I thought it was well worth it!

Next up, Harry Potter World! Wow, everything was pretty amazing there, so much Harry Potter-ness.

We went into a couple shops before getting some butterbeer! It tasted like cream soda - pretty good.

Did I forget to mention how blazing hot the weather was? Cause we were sweating a lot and we didn't even start the day yet, and  waiting in lines were kind of bad. We were waiting in line for the famous Harry Potter ride but the wait was kind of dreadful -  about two hours long. We as a group wanted to buy the speedpass but they were already sold out when we wanted to get them. I bought the picture from the ride! Meghan had to cool down so she went to look around more of the Harry Potter shops, so that's why she wasn't on this ride with us.

We took a few pics before leaving Harry Potter World.

We then went back to Hollywood Life and went to a burger place to get some burgers. It was pretty expensive but we hadn't really eaten breakfast so we had to get something. I had an avocado burger and it tasted fine but it was nice just talking to Mio, and Riko's other friend Akari. They spoke no English so I had to bring back some Japanese I've forgotten to talk to them. Meghan was usually the expert in that area.

We then went on the ride Back to The Future. The line was short compared to the others, we looked online to see them, ha. It was a fun ride, with a lot of moving in place inside a vehicle but, WOAH, did it make us a bit weezy after the ride.

After, we went to the Minions store! It was a lot of fun stuff in there and a lot of people bought them but they were verrrrryyyy expensive.

Me and Meghan and Riko with her friends went our separate ways as they wanted to ride Space Fantasy again, so we went off and bought some Minion food! It was just a meat bun and mochi on sticks, but they were so cute looking with the Minions faces on them.

I also really wanted to try the frozen mango that I had seen every where, and WOW was that good.

We originally wanted to go to Jurassic Park but the timed tickets to go in were already sold out, so only those who got them earlier could go in. It wasn't a big deal because right next to it was Jaws! I remember riding this ride in Florida so I knew I would enjoy it. (BETA Natasha's note: I was there with you, too. I didn't enjoy it, I cried lol)

Meghan and I didn't want to wait that long and there was a singles line that people just waited for 30 minutes, so, a plus for us.

FYI, every announcer on every ride all speak in Japanese, I got the jist of most of the stuff but the ride of Harry Potter and Back to the Future were dubbed in Japanese so I had to video most of their words cause I didn't understand why they couldn't put subtitles instead.

So after that ride we took some more pics and went to meet up with Riko and her friends again.

We were discussing a lot and decided for our last ride to be Spider-Man! It wasn't like the latest movie of Spider-man, but more of the old animation one.

Us waiting in line:

It was still a marvelous ride because it was more action packed and more of a roller coaster. I also got the picture for it at the end.

Riko, Meghan and I then said goodbye to her friends and left cause we were so exhausted, and Mio and Akari wanted to go back to Harry Potter again.

I stopped by Hard Rock Cafe on the way back and we even saw a Pinkberry! Couldn't resist getting that!

Riko's mom picked us up and even prepared dinner for us which was very nice of her. She's done so much for us that I really couldn't thank her enough with the mere chocolates I bought them.

We took a night night shower as this was going to be our last day, and went straight to sleep.
