We woke up this day really early around 6:30 because we wanted to have time to eat and pack our things really quickly. Our host wasn't really in the best of spirits, with taking care of her family and she having a tick about cleanliness. She called a taxi for us and we said our goodbyes to her but we knew we would have alot of traveling today.
The plane ride from Jeju to Seoul (Gimpo Airport) was uneventful but we had to get our luggage and go back to our first host's house to get our bigger luggage. We took the subway, and then a taxi to our old host's hous,e and they were really nice, already having our luggage waiting for the taxi to take. We returned back to the subway, now with our big luggage and had to go to Incheon International Airport, being 40 minutes away.
Our flight was at 2pm (BETA Natasha's notes: 2pm!!! Put your hands up! <3) We just got there around 12:30 to arrange our stuff and get to check in time for Japan Airlines. We were lugging our heavy luggage through the airport, exhausted, but we were glad we made it on time. It was then that I said my last farewells to Korea.
This flight was nicer because we actually had a screen to watch movies and such if we wanted. I just slept while Meghan watched a movie. I'm still not used to planes and sometimes have this urge to throw up, so sleeping helps out a lot.
Finally, after taking two planes today, we had to get onto the Willer bus station to take us to Kyoto since we arrived at Narita airport near Tokyo. You're probably wondering why we just didn't take a a plane straight to Kyoto; it's cause we had bought the Korea and Japan tickets before anything else. Kyoto, and even Jeju, were planned after so we had to arrange a lot of stuff to fill in the gaps since we can't refund our old tickets. We wanted to go to Kyoto to visit my long time friend, Riko!
Meghan wanted to take out money in yen but her card wasn't working so we had to call Bank of America to confirm and make sure everything was okay. We couldn't go around Japan without money. After two attempts already, she finally got cash out and we were good to go.
Got some Japanese snacks, most were rice crackers - pretty good.
We had to take the Narita Express bus to Shinjuku as that's where the Willer bus station was. But carrying our huge bags was such an issue, what with all the lifting it and rolling. We went to get dinner since most of the day was just traveling, so we stopped by at a small tempura restaurant.
We got to the Willer bus station on time and after, things went pretty smoothly. The bus accommodated nicely, with curtains to block your space and a bathroom.
It's an overnight bus and we were going to arrive in Kyoto around 6 am the next day. Nighty night for us.
Sid
