Day 3 - Tourism

Hi!

After the busy day we had yesterday, I had to sleep in till at least 9. Our lovely host made us breakfast again. I was stuffed; bibimbap was our dish:

We left around 11 to go and take the subway to Changdeokgung Palace, a popular tourist attraction. When we got there, it was already around 35 degrees Celsius and so we decided to head to the National Palace Museum of Korea. I took sooo many pictures inside the museum. It was so interesting seeing all this type of history that took place in Korea, the culture fascinating me. I'll just show the ones that I thought were most interesting:

After using the cafe wifi at the museum, we knew we had to go back outside in the scorching heat to the palace. Meghan had me lugging around her huge umbrella to block out the heat, but it really didn't seem to do much.

We then went to the subway to meet up with one of Meghan's friend, who is Japanese. Her name was Kana and she and Meghan wanted to show me what Korean BBQ was like.

Although I couldn't eat the meat, they cooked my veggies for me and order this omelette thing:

It was actually pretty good and we got some tofu soup to go with it.

Next, we went to the Han river and took pictures around the area.

We went on a boat that this hot guy (who didn't know a word of English, by the way, so Meghan and I talked about him on the boat, ha) drove for us. It was amazing! He drove very fast and entertained us with the speed and turns of the boat. It also allowed us a look around our surroundings.

We had to try to ride the bikes along the river. It's apparently a must-have when you're in Korea. Meghan and me being lame, we decided to take a two-seater bike.

Let's just say that when Meghan and I switched positions, it didn't work out so well. Although, we did have a good view of the sun before it was set in the sky.

The last thing we did before we headed back to our host house was eat a more delicious version of the shaved ice I had yesterday. Patbingsu!

We finally arrived back at the house around 10. It was an exhilarating day and although I know that we're going to be tired practically everyday of this month, it's totally worth it. :)
